And we have a step-by-step guide on registering and filling out your UCAS account too - if you need it - it's here

4. Prepare necessary documents

For your undergraduate study in the UK, you'll need two important documents:

  • a well-written personal statement letter
  • at least one academic or professional reference letter

Don't worry, these are not as difficult to create as you might think. Just follow instructions in the 'Personal Statement' and 'Reference Letter' sections in the UniEdu Application Portal and you'll finish them quickly. Our guides and support are available here for you. You can submit your documents for our review anytime and our team will help you with editing and improving your letters, making the task even simpler and more effective.

Remember that you can have only one personal statement for your application so it's important that it fits the course you're applying for. This is why you must choose only one (or a few similar) course so that your application chances are maximised.

5. Finish and send the UCAS application:

When your personal statement and references are ready, it's time to complete and send your UCAS application. Our step-by-step guide available in UCAS Apply section will help you to get this done.

If you get stuck or need help during this part of your application, use UniEdu's chat for instant support.

6. Wait for universities' offers and decide which ones to choose:

A couple of weeks post-application, UK universities will send offers for your chosen courses. You will be able to see live updates in UCAS Apply section on our website. If your UCAS application is connected with us we will also keep you informed and updated on important deadlines so that you don't miss anything. Review offers carefully and after receiving replies from all of your options, select your top two choices, and respond through the UCAS platform.

This is a very important step, and the UniEdu team will be available to help you understand your offers and communicate with universities.

7. Book your English language test:

To begin your studies in the UK you will most probably need an English language certificate (especially if you do not hold a (pre-)settled status). This is a good time to book and prepare for your test. There are a few options to choose from, and nowadays you can prepare and pass your test online. Give yourself a few weeks to prepare and don't worry if you don't pass the first time; you can always repeat the test if you need to.

If you have questions about the English language test or aren't sure which English language test you should take for your UK University Application - we will be ready to assist.

8a. (Pre-)Settled applicants and UK Nationals - apply for government student loans (if you're eligible):

For undergraduate studies in the UK, eligible students can get loans to cover tuition fees and living expenses. We've written about them in a separate article, which we highly recommend you read.

The process of applying for student loans can be a bit tricky, so we've created a step-by-step online guide to make it easier. You will be able to find this guide in our UCAS Apply section.

UniEdu will be available on chat to discuss your student loan eligibility and the application process.

8b. International applicants - pay your deposit and prepare to apply for visa:

If you are an international applicant who does not hold a (pre-)settled status in the UK you will be required to apply for UK Student Visa. Before you will be able to do that you will need to have your place at the university secured and the deposit at the university paid. Only then will the university issue you with the CAS letter.

Our guides on how to apply for visa will be available for you in the UCAS Apply section of the UniEdu Application Portal.

Discuss your visa application with us if you need any help regarding this topic.

9. Confirm your place at the university and send final documents:

When you have your results - provide the required documentation to your chosen university. This typically includes your high school exam certificates (translated if the certificate is not written in English), a copy of your English language certificate, and other documents such as a copy of your ID.

Some universities may require online pre-registration.

Feel free to ask us for help if you feel that any of the above seem problematic or unclear.

10. Plan the next steps before beginning your first academic year:

With course placement and finances secured, plan your move near your university and prepare for UK studies. Choose between university and private housing options, and if planning to work during your studies, create a CV and job-hunting strategy. Courses typically start in late September, so plan several months in advance.

Consult UniEdu for advice on accommodation options and job-hunting strategies to avoid stress and disruptions.

11. Arrive, register as a student at the university, and attend Freshers' Week:

The moment you register as a student at your new university, you will officially become a student and gain access to all the benefits and facilities. This is the ideal time to spend familiarising yourself with the campus and the student community.

UK universities usually host a week-long Freshers' Fair, featuring events such as campus tours, society and club presentations, student union sign-ups, and parties at student bars and nightclubs. Select extracurricular activities for upcoming semesters and network with fellow students to make the university your new home.
